Robot

During a discussion with a few colleagues recently, the topic of robotic ultrasound robots that can perform scans for us came up and for most this seemed a dream, however this could soon become reality, especially with the recent robotic ultrasound system which is able to perform remote operations with the help of specialists.  ESA is testing the device, which is held against the patient. The ultrasound expert can then move the probe as if present in the examination room, rather than thousands of miles away.

Plantar fascia is a thin fibrous band on the plantar surface of the foot and forms a strong mechanical linkage between the calcaneum and the toes. Plantar fasciitis represent degeneration, chronic inflammation and/or fibroblastic proliferation of plantar fascia (Ahuja, 2007). It results from microtears of the plantar fascia with subsequent inflammatory response perpetuated by repeated strain through weight bearing (Genc et al, 2005).

Menorrhagia, dysmenorrhoea and uterine enlargement (Fig 1) are common presentations in an outpatient clinic. These symptoms are quite non-specific in nature and frequently attributed to uterine leiomyomas. Adenomyosis, despite being commonly associated with these symptoms, is lesser known and diagnosed.
