Leiomyoma: is a benign smooth muscle neoplasm that is  thought to be non-malignant. They can occur in any organ but are most commonly found in the uterus, small bowel and oesophagus.

Leiomyomas are frequently found in the smooth muscle layer (myometrium) of the uterus and can be classed into the following categories based on anatomical position:
