I am extremely pleased to announce that the second Professional of the Month Award goes to a highly esteemed ultrasound professional Mrs. Jill Harrison - Ultrasound Programme Director, City University London.
Jill Harrison started her teaching career back in 1999 which was a change from her previous role as ultrasound department manager. She has indeed worked her way up the ranks and is now the ultrasound programme director at the City University in London, UK. She is also lead accreditor for CASE (the Consortium for Accreditation of Sonographic Education) which is a formal governing body that ensures the highest level of ultrasound training is delivered to trainees within the UK. She holds a MSc in medical ultrasound and is also in fact a qualified hypnotherapist.
I decided to nominate Jill, who was my academic tutor and taught me all the tricks of the trade, as I thought she really deserved this small token of appreciation. She was in fact a clear choice for the award as she gives her all to the job and manages to get the best out of her students. She is clearly a determined and ambitious lady and will strive for what she believes in. She will endeavour to put her students first and has a clear flair for teaching. Her teaching methodology, knowledge and mentoring abilities are first class as I'm sure all who have been under her wing or work with her already know. She has a very pleasant and charming nature and is always willing to help and guide you through tough times. Jill was very pleased with the award and graciously accepted. She has many achievements and has future plans to develop new methods of teaching and assessment in ultrasound, making use of new technological developments.
I wish her all the best with this and with everything else, including the move!
