Plantar fascia is a thin fibrous band on the plantar surface of the foot and forms a strong mechanical linkage between the calcaneum and the toes. Plantar fasciitis represent degeneration, chronic inflammation and/or fibroblastic proliferation of plantar fascia (Ahuja, 2007). It results from microtears of the plantar fascia with subsequent inflammatory response perpetuated by repeated strain through weight bearing (Genc et al, 2005).
